I don't remember the time or context I first thought of this name. What I saw contained the fragments {Roche} and {hault} which looked very French and sophisticated. But change those fragments just a little, and you arrive and {Rochen} and {haut} which together make German words for Stingray and Skin.
And that is indeed quite cool.
As conflicting as the origin of the name is the purpose of Rochenhaut. Rochenhaut will sell fashion online, but its operation is centred around a public blockchain. So in addition to becoming a viable business, an outcome of Rochenhaut will also be an alternative operating model for Private Equity investment funds.
